Ven. Shi, Yanli Of famous Shaolin Temple of China met president Mr Sumathi Dharmawardena and senior members of Sri Lanka China Buddhist Friendship Association (SLCBFA) and held a discussion about promoting activities between Shaolin Temple and Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka.Mr Ajith Dharmawardena Vice President SLCBFA , Mr K.G.Chandrasiri Deputy Treasurer Of SLCBFA took part in the meeting.
Ven Shi Yanli was on 10th May 1984 nearby the Yellow River, in Henan Province, China. Now he is the Zen Master of Shaolin Chan Hall of China. The secretary of Shaolin Association of North America .
He became a Buddhist monk on the year 2002 in Shaolin Temple, China. Thereafter, he travels around China learned and practice Zen Buddhism with Zen masters in the different temples.
From 2007 to 2010 he studied at Buddhist college of Singapore.
He teaches Buddhism and Shaolin health Kongfu class in America. One of the major program there is “ Buddhism concern” for the prisoners in the prisons . He find it out how Zen Buddhism works for people , also he learns a lot of the prisoners , too !
Mr Indrananda Abeseykera President Sri Lanka China Socio-Cultural Organisation (SLCSCO). Arranged a meeting with Sri Lanka Kung fu association, Sri Lanka Qi Gong society, Sri Lanka Tai Qi association with the participation of members of SLCSCO and members of SLCBA on 29th September 2018 in Colombo.
